Preparing your skin before a Brazilian wax with Janet in South Portland, Maine can help create a smoother, more comfortable experience.
Grow your hair for 2+ weeks — a little longer is okay.
Gently exfoliate 24–48 hours before and moisturize regularly. Arrive with clean, product-free skin.
Drink plenty of water before your appointment.
Avoid caffeine, alcohol, sun/tanning, and intense workouts before your Brazilian waxing appointment.
Avoid waxing over sunburned, irritated, broken, or freshly exfoliated skin.
A little preparation goes a long way toward beautiful, smooth results.
-
Your comfort, privacy, and skin health are Janet’s priority. Brazilian waxing can feel a little spicy, especially your first time, but the sensation is quick and temporary. Janet works carefully and at your pace to make your experience as comfortable as possible.
-
Leave your skin calm for the first 24–48 hours. Avoid sex, workouts, sweating, swimming, tanning, tight clothing, and fragranced or irritating products. Wear loose, breathable clothing and be gentle with the area while your skin recovers.
For smooth, consistent results, most clients book every 3–4 weeks. Staying on schedule helps you work with your natural hair-growth cycle.
-
Yes! You can still receive your Brazilian while on your period. A tampon is required during your appointment.
Your skin may be more sensitive during your cycle. If you’re feeling extra spicy or especially sensitive, you’re welcome to reschedule. Please plan accordingly and give yourself the flexibility to choose a time when you feel your best.
